**************SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS*************
Up for grabs is this 12" AlNiCo guitar speaker .( I have another similar listed as well)
If you like the detailed, lead "Power-Vintage" tonality, you'll love this one .....This unit has a COPPER CORE in it's magnetic circuit, and how ever it does it, it provides that " Magnetically Saturated" tonality naturally..
As well, Possessing a super clean, powerful, detailed, touch sensitive tonality, it's GREAT for that "Power-Vintage" type tonality with distortion, or even as a super clean/loud driver as well....
Anyhow, this was stripped down to bare metal, disassembled, cleaned, and then a new coat of that color-shift black-- purple was applied.
.The magnetic structures were checked with a flux/gauss density probe and measured just fine, so they were PURPOSELY not de-magnetized/re-magnetized. It's riding on their original charge. Some people say these old alnico units 'sweeten with age", and after hearing it ,I have to agree.
Then, the reassembly began. This unit was rebuilt from the inside out with all OEM/ AMERICAN made components. There are no after market, replacement, India made junk, or import Chyna crap, but only AMERICAN made components.
Fellas', even if you don't buy from me- BUY AMERICAN!
From the voice coil out to the front mounting gasket, this is basically a new unit again, only BETTER!
The voice coil is 1-1/2 " in diameter, and is a NOMEX former. The windings themselves are solid copper windings, none of that coated aluminum wire here. Its a 4 Ohm coil, and I'd keep power limited to 30 watts just for safety, but the thermal limit is probably a bit higher. It only weighed 4.0 grams!
The litz wires used in this unit is PURE COPPER woven conductors,. This is far superior to that pot metal/silver braided industry standard stuff which is cheap to manufacture and why it's usually used. That stuff comparatively smears and smudges the details, and " fills in" the gaps in the peaks in the signal, which alters the original signal, and is actually distortion of some type....It sucks the life out of your music. The copper does NOT do that, and it's a .050" diameter, soldered between the terminals and the voice coil itself.
The spider assembly- nothing too overly exciting here. it is a cupped profile/ high compliance treated textile(cloth) type...It allows for more excursion than you'll ever need for guitar work..
Hook- up is a standard terminal type hook up. If needed, I can include spade terminal crimp on clips.
A repressed paper dust cap, with a lip up design was used. This has a 1" center vented design for a bit of air exchange/ cooling of the coil/ core area..
It just screams " 1970s"
Front mounting gaskets are the chipped rubber/cork like material/ 4hole mounting pattern, so you'll make a good mount to your baffle board.
An all paper seamed / conical/straight profile cone with a fully ribbed body was employed...... This cone is the same super hard/stiff pulp that Eminence uses on their top shelf, high dollar alnico units in the 70s,,,,, so, I used that cone in this build..
OK- final specs are:
Power- 30 watts
SPL- 96
Response- 70-5.0KHz
Impedance- 4 ohms
AWESOME for Blues/Classic rock and recording/Micing/FOH applications..
Fully tested under diagnostics and operates without any rubbing, smoking, buzzing, holes, rips, or tears. This is basically a brand new speaker , only BETTER~!
It's truly greater than the sum of it's parts.
Plus- I'm confident enough that you guys will LOVE this one, that I am including my 15 day "NO GAMBLE" return option from delivery date (((less customer damage))) if for ANY REASON you simply don't like what you just bought.
So, if you need one hell of a "Power-Vintage" 12" AlNiCo speaker, then here ya' go!
ANY questions or concerns, just ask.
THANKS GUYS!!
