For sale is a rare vintage Ampex ATR-102 1/2" 2-Track Reel-to-Reel Mastering Tape Recorder. It's functional but could use some servicing.
Tech notes include (but not necessarily comprehensive on all the servicing it could use):
- Original caps
- I/O module will need service
- Transport is working
- Jog wheel needs new bearings, the machine is very noisy when in motion
- Counter is not working
- Channel 4 is not switching in the status matrix
This came from a long-time owner's climate controlled storage, part of a hobbyist studio collection that was unused for approximately the past decade. Due to the current condition it is sold as-is, for parts/repairs, no warranties, guarantees, refunds or returns. It's possible we can get this unit serviced as needed for additional cost, contact us if interested in adding servicing to your purchase.
