Quite frankly, I personally think it is the best.
Yes, I am a huge fan. I have owned and built several Blackies over the years. For that reason, I am seriously particular when it comes to building these. Lately I wanted to get creative and I think I nailed this one out of the park.
First, this is a genuine, Fender, Clapton fully loaded authentic body. Factory fresh, I did nothing to it. I don’t want to get into it to deep but I am always available for questions and answers always. Just read my outstanding reputation and all my super kind reviews. Never anything less than 100% A+++++ Raved Reviews for nearly 15 years.
The only thing I did to this guitar is an alternative on the neck. Eric‘s original blackie was nothing more than a top shelf American Professional that he wore out. These days, Fender has computerized the exact specs to cut and build his personal neck exactly to his personal choice For him. As for us, we basically get a stock neck version with a standard neck his with his decal on it. And I’m not bad mouthing them. They are very good. However, it’s not the neck that makes a Clapton, it his special loaded customized body and his active mid boost and 25 db circuit. Outside of that, you got a serious Clapton with a totally awesome neck.
Please note: I added more pics for you and have 2 optional necks in solid maple just like Clapton’‘s. These are the Anerican professional classic necks. They are the modern version with the upgraded tuners. All these necks are brand new but I mark as used per Fenders and Reverb rules.
However, they are outstanding MINT.
So because of that, I assembled this Clapton with Fenders best, which is the Fender Ultra 11 SPECIAL edition LE FR. neck. Top shelf and outstanding MINT. I also ordered Graph Techs new nut which is outstanding. I’m sure we all know Graph Techs quality. I also felt the matching Backie headstock is totally off the hook. Quite frankly, I have no clue why Fender doesn’t do it. I do understand, some of you prefer the original Maple Neck. Ask me questions because I can substitute the other neck at no additional charge.
So in closing this is an outstanding, one of a kind Gem of a Clapton at a serious generous price. Remember, these necks are not cheap.
