Bad Cat MOD Shop Custom Black Cat 30-Watt Electric Guitar Amp Head - Custom Navy Bronco Tolex with Gold Piping | No Limit Guitar Co, Idaho Falls

The Bad Cat MOD Shop Black Cat is a handcrafted, limited-edition 30-watt amp head that revisits one of Bad Cat's most celebrated designs with input from boutique amp designer Mark Sampson. Built around four EL84 power tubes and custom hand-wound transformers, it offers two channels, spring reverb, and bias-modulated tremolo in a navy bronco tolex cabinet with gold piping. It suits professional guitarists, studio players, and collectors who want rare, boutique-quality tone.

Product Overview

The MOD Shop Black Cat 30 is built in Costa Mesa, California, in a Baltic birch cabinet wrapped in custom navy bronco tolex with gold piping. The two-channel design gives players plenty of range, with independent gain and volume controls on each channel for smooth moves between clean tones and saturated overdrive. Shared bass, treble, and cut controls shape the tone across both channels, while the responsive EL84 power section delivers touch-sensitive dynamics and rich harmonics. Built-in spring reverb and bias-modulated tremolo add effects without extra pedals, and a buffered effects loop keeps your signal clean when you add them. Multiple speaker outputs (4, 8, 16, 2x4, and 2x8 ohms) and a line out make the head easy to pair with different cabinets or send straight to a recording setup. Custom hand-wound Bad Cat transformers add clarity, headroom, and the distinctive Bad Cat voice.

Studio artists who need a wide range of tones, from clean to saturated gain. Touring musicians who want a road-worthy head with excellent build quality. Collectors and tone seekers searching for a boutique 30-watt EL84 tube amp head with spring reverb and tremolo.

Premium Tube Complement: Four EL84 power tubes deliver 30 watts of responsive, harmonically rich tone, and three 12AX7 preamp tubes provide the gain staging for everything from glassy cleans to thick overdrive.
