The Plura Bender NPN is a handcrafted British-style germanium fuzz built around carefully selected OC140 NPN germanium transistors.

Unlike traditional PNP germanium designs, this NPN configuration allows for standard negative-ground operation, making it fully compatible with modern pedalboards and power supplies.

Each OC140 transistor has been individually tested, gain-matched, and checked for leakage to ensure optimal tonal response and stability.

Tone & Control

The OC140 delivers a tighter, more articulate germanium response with strong note definition and focused low end, while retaining the warmth and musical compression associated with classic germanium fuzz.

At optimal bias settings (around 4.5–5V), the pedal offers rich sustain and excellent dynamic cleanup when rolling back the guitar volume.

Lowering the external bias introduces gated and voltage-starved textures for more experimental sounds.

A dedicated gain/output switch ensures that even at lower gain settings, the pedal maintains strong output and presence. This prevents the typical volume drop associated with dialing back fuzz, making the lower gain range far more usable in live and studio situations.

Build & Philosophy

The pedal features a hardwood side frame and transparent underside, revealing the matched OC140 transistors and vintage-style components inside. Each unit is assembled, tuned, and biased by hand.
