For sale is a rare vintage Oberheim OB-Xa 8-voice 61-Key Vintage Analog Keyboard Synthesizer. This has 8 voice cards internally. This is sold as-is, for parts/repairs, no warranties, guarantees, refunds or returns. This one came from original owner's private smoke free home studio, where it went unplayed for the past 25+ years. Very rare to find a one-owner vintage synth these days!
We are backed up on too many other repair projects so we are open to selling this as-is in the time being. If we manage to find time to service it, we'll update the listing and the price will go up accordingly. We can also service this for new owner for additional cost if interested and bump this up in line in our service cue, contact us if interested.
Our brief tech evaluation is as follows:
- Powers up and passes signal (makes sounds)
- Voice 1 has an issue (shown by blinking led)
- Multiple keys mistrigger
- Keys are clicking, bushings need replacement
- Transpose up not functioning
- Filter/loudness envelopes seem to be acting odd, but it may be an artifact of the keyboard issues
- Filter frequency knob is intermittent
- Battery tests good
