Kelsey Acoustics EQ IV 4 Band Parametric Equalizer

This is one of those try and find another one items. This is branded for the London audio installation company Kelsey Acoustics who are still trading. It dates to the 80s based on the date codes on some of the chips. It's model EQ IV and features four bands of parametric eq with a pair of cutoff filters. Internally its circuit is reminiscent of the UERI 545 without the multiband feature. It also features insert points between each band which invites some intriguing options for placing compression in between bands.

I've owned this since the late 90s having pulled it from the junk box at a London sound rental company that now doesn't exist. When I acquired it the original toroidal power transformer was blown and it had taken the regulators with it when it went. After hunting around I found a suitable toroidal (Amveco 62044) to replace the broken one. While I was in there I also fully recapped this with Elna SILMIC II caps pretty much anywhere they fit and Vishay for the power supply reservoirs. Two of the original knobs had gone AWOL and they have been replaced by a pair of NOS Sifam's (sourced from Greece if I recall, the pots have an uncommon 4mm diameter shaft). Finally while the transformer has dual primaries it is currently hardwired to 115V operation so if you wanted to run it in Europe you'd need to get a tech to rearrange that for you. The original voltage selector switch was bypassed.
