The Plura Bender is a handcrafted British-style germanium fuzz built around a carefully selected FT83B PNP transistor paired with a vintage OCP71 germanium transistor fitted with a dedicated heatsink for improved thermal stability.

Each transistor has been individually tested, gain-matched where required, and measured for leakage to ensure optimal musical response and consistency.

This is not a clone, but a refined interpretation of a classic 60s fuzz topology, combining rare germanium components with modern usability.

Tone & Character

This configuration delivers a warm, harmonically rich fuzz with smooth sustain and classic 60s compression. The FT83B provides strong musical drive, while the OCP71 adds smoothness and dynamic response.

The external bias control allows fine adjustment around the sweet spot (typically around 4.5–5V), enabling everything from classic blooming sustain to gated, voltage-starved textures.

The integrated gain/output switch ensures that even at lower gain settings, the pedal maintains usable output and presence, avoiding the typical volume drop found in many vintage fuzz circuits.

The result is an expressive, interactive fuzz that responds beautifully to pick attack and guitar volume adjustments.

Build & Philosophy

The pedal features a hardwood side frame and transparent underside, showcasing the rare germanium components inside. Each unit is assembled and individually biased by hand.
