This is an incredibly hard to find limited run Les Paul Standard in lightly figured Crimson Sunset finish. I know there was a limited number of these guitars made, 25 Crimson Sunset and 25 Amber Sunset.
The guitar is part of the "Sunset Inspired Series" featuring high end appointments including Bumblebee capacitors, historic construction, all hide glue and exclusive Custom-Bucker Alnico III pickups which sound fantastic. It is part of the Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection. I purchased this guitar new in 2020 and only played it a few times my church. My understanding is it is a '58 reissue with a few changes. The Crimson Sunset was not available in 1958. The gold hardware with the crimson sunset finish looks beautiful. Even the screws on the back plate are gold hardware. We do have two marks on the back and one very small (hard to photograph) indent on the front. There are a few surface scratches that can be seen when you tip the guitar back and forth in the light. I have all the case candy including the extra switch cover if you don't want to advertise the custom shop logo and the - Gibson Custom Shop case... These were available in the Standard Sunset and Crimson Sunset. In the video I attached the player demos both colors. The specs were the same for both guitars. At marker 1:07 he plays the Crimson Sunset model...
