That Ocean Blue finish is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do: quietly humiliating standard sunbursts without raising its voice. It shifts in the light, catches your eye from across the room, and makes you reconsider how many “traditional” guitars you actually need. The flame underneath is deep, aggressive, and fully aware of how good it looks. This top isn’t asking for approval — it’s already moved on.

Fortunately, Gibson knew better than to mess with the fundamentals. Everything else is textbook R9 correctness: bound rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays, vintage tulip tuners, gold tophat knobs, and the classic ABR-1 two-piece adjustable bridge doing its job with quiet authority. At 8.9 lbs, she’s perfectly weighted to feel important without becoming inconvenient. The ’59 rounded neck, measuring .936” at the 1st fret and 1.012” at the 12th, fills the hand like it expects you to know what you’re doing. It’s not here to help beginners. It’s here to reward people with taste.

Plug it in and the Custombucker Alnico III pickups deliver exactly what you expect — and then stop, because they don’t need to prove anything. Open, woody cleans, thick midrange bloom, and harmonically rich overdrive that makes modern “updates” feel unnecessary. This guitar doesn’t chase tone. Tone shows up and behaves itself. She was born in 2016 and is in very good condition. There’s a ding on the back edge, some mild surface scratches, a couple of buff marks, and a fingernail surface impression on the mahogany side. All cosmetic. All honest. All well beneath this guitar’s self-esteem.

Included are the original Lifton hard case and case candy. The certificate is missing, which this guitar has chosen not to be bothered by.

Return Policy- 

We do accept returns up to 14 days from the point of the initial sale, which means that the guitar must be back in our possession within this 14 day period. However, please be aware of the following conditions: If for any reason you wish to return the guitar, just call or email me directly, within 24 hours of your receiving the item, and let me know that you want to return it. Once we receive the guitar back, in the same condition, you will receive a refund, less a $50 restock fee. Also be aware that the initial shipping fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
