Now available, a mid 1964 Fender Stratocaster in its stunning original 3-tone sunburst finish.

This example made its way to Australia from the US only recently, featuring all pre-CBS specifications including clay dot fingerboard inlays, a nitrate celluloid pickguard, and single line Kluson deluxe tuners. This guitar features an early transition logo (original decal), having a neck date of April '64.

The only changed part on the guitar is a reproduction backplate/tremolo cover, otherwise the guitar retains all of its original hardware and plastics, as well as the original finish having no touchup or overspray. Under the pickguard all of the electronics remain untouched, including the 3-way switch, the 3x Stackpole pots dating to the 44th week of '63, and the black bobbin pickups dating to May (no rewinds).

There is some play wear and light finish checking as you would expect for 62 years of age, however the guitar remains in great condition overall. The original frets do have some wear, however play surprisingly well, its currently setup with 10-46 strings and a low-medium action.
