Looking for an American Strat for an import price? I may have just the ticket. For sale is my 2003 American Series Stratocaster in Chrome Red, with a maple neck (C carve, 0.81" at 1st fret, 0.87:" at 12th). Nut width is 1.68". Guitar weighs in at a comfortable 7 lb, 11 oz.
About the color, this is the Chrome Red finish that definitely leans orange. This is why I purchased it because I'd not see this before.
Condition is VG because there are a few small nicks and bruises, a deep buckle rash (see photo), and because I believe there were stickers placed on here leading to darken discolorations in/around the bridge. A handful of these look diamond shaped and the most prominent one, just below the bridge (if guitar is on a stand) is rectangular in shape. These have faded under my ownership, but they are still not gone. I tried to capture this in a photo as well as some of the dings, smudges, and bruises. It is definitely a player, not a collector.
The frets are in good shape those there is wear in the cowboy area. I have posted my limit of 25 photos but can post a photo in messages upon your request. I can see them better than I can feel them when sliding a string over them.
Guitar case is in good but worn condition. Biggest flaw is that the two canvas straps that keep the lid from opening beyond 90 degrees have detached. I could glue them, but it seems they'd be glued to the fur of the lining and would likely give out over time. There's gotta be a more robust method - time for a pro? I'll leave it to you to decide whether to bother - it does not subtract from the mechanical structure of the case. The case does have dings and scratches.
