Overview:

The ESD Dual Drive features two Marshall Bluesbreaker style overdrives in one box! Similar to the King of Tone, the two sides can be used independently or together to create a wide range of tones, from light bluesy overdrive, to vintage crunch, to high gain saturation! The ESD Dual Drive has selectable hard clipping, soft clipping, and high gain mode like the King of Tone, each as exterior toggle switches, enabling you to adjust your tone on the fly.

Both red and blue sides use BAS33 diodes for soft clipping. For hard clipping, the blue side uses silicon diodes for a classic crunch sound, and the red side uses germanium diodes for a smooth, more compressed tone.

Two overdrive circuits in one box gives a huge amount of flexibility!

-Set the two sides up as two separate and completely different drive tones

-Use the blue side as an ‘always on’ with the red side as a clean volume boost

-Use the red side as ‘always on’ with the blue side set to add even more distortion when needed

-Combine and stack both sides to craft your perfect tone

Uses standard 9VDC center negative power supply (not included; standard for guitar pedals, compatible with 1 Spot, etc.).

Controls (identical for each side):

Volume: Controls the overall output level.

Tone: Controls the cutoff frequency of a low pass (high cut) filter which adjusts the level of treble/bass in the signal.

Drive: Controls the amount of gain in the first opamp stage, which increases volume and distortion.

Clip (H): Engages/disengages hard clipping diodes (red = Ge, blue = Si)

Clip (S): Engages/disengages soft clipping diodes (BAS33 for both sides)

Hi Gain: Increases the level of opamp gain available, giving a higher overall level of gain across the entire range of the Drive control. Turn this off for a greater level of control over low to medium gain sounds, and on for high gain sounds.
