This guitar is in amazing condition and has absolutely no issues or defects of any kind. I’ve had this for about 20 years and hard for me to believe, but I cannot find any dings or dents anywhere on the body. Super clean.

Mods:

1 - This guitar came with two strap buttons on the rear of the guitar (one high and the other low) and added one to the standard location as it was not working for me when I switched guitars and used the same strap.

2 - H2+ pickup was replaced with an H3.

3 - new frets were installed in 2022

Two Stacked Single Coils and H3 humbucker with Switcheroo System

Four Bolt neck with hand scribed serial number

This comes with the switcheroo system, where you can basically get any combination including series and parallel from any of the pick ups for all of them. Amazing variety of sounds.

From what I understand the original purchaser replaced the H2+ pick up with an H3 and that’s what I had been reusing since purchase. I found this to be amazing and full for rock to heavy rock sounds but perhaps the H2+ would be more balanced and lower output. That said, the H3 set to parallel or series also sounds incredible.

New jumbo frets (nickel) were installed on this four years ago and it’s had less than an hour use. It has extremely low action but a few quarter turns on the bridge post and you can set it you’re liking.

***** ***** ***** *****

It comes with a Kahler Steeler Trem, which is one of the most highly regarded licensed versions of the Floyd Rose, and only included in a few years for the Tom Anderson’s. I initially use this for five or six songs in one of my rock gigs many years ago and I wasn’t taking any chances on spring breakage so I normally had the bridge lockdown. I will include the blocking that I used.

Reputation and desirability

  • Players and collectors regard the Kahler Steeler as a top‑tier Floyd‑style bridge: solid steel construction, excellent tuning stability, and smooth feel, on par with or better than many OEM licensed Floyds from the 80s/90s.
  • Anderson only used these Kahler Steelers for a short window on high‑end builds due to their cost and availability, which adds some rarity and cool‑factor to a 1993 Drop Top Classic with this hardware.
  • Used prices for a loose Steeler are reported around the mid‑hundreds of dollars (often quoted “around 500 USD” second‑hand), which reflects their cult status more than mass‑market popularity
