This is the ultimate all original & perhaps the most popular “Stevie Ray Vaughan” era Pre-CBS Stratocaster in all original condition. It has its original bright 3-Tone’burst finish over a very lightweight Alder body pencil dated 8/63 in the Trem cavity. These mid-1963 Strats were the best period prior to when CBS was going to acquire Fender in late ’64. This has a neck date stamped June 1963 & are quite perfect in both feel playability like no others. It’s sporting a very low serial # (L01XXx) stamped on its 4-bolt neck plate, its original Green’gard has 1 screw crackle & 1 small chippy in it. Its 3 Pickups are absolutely fantastic (both Top & Bottom pickups rewound) w/that quintessential Strat tone ! Its pot date codes are from the 24th week of 1963, Its so cool from its nickel tuners to its pat. pend. 6 saddle bridge. She has a gorgeous patina for a 63 year old original, it plays & feels incredible, other than having some major play time, she’s still rather Excellent. 1 of the coolest & most desirable examples on Earth, she comes complete w/its original Brown Tolex case.
