Proficiency Level: Professional - Orchestra.
Year made: 1996.
Fittings: all original (ebony).
Strings: Thomastik-Infield "Dominant."

This instrument is a fine violin by the famed German maker that would reward the professional orchestra musician or the advanced player.

The violin carries Roth's official label and is iron-branded on the wood with the "football" logo and stamped with a serial number (images). 

The violin is also iron-branded inside on the headstock - the branding reads:

The violin has had only one owner and in excellent vintage condition. It has very little "playing mileage" on it and has been preserved with great care. There are no cracks, repairs, seam separations, or other structural defects. Perfectly clean inside - no molds or dirt. There are very minor traces of prior use (such as a small nick under the tailpiece from the string adjuster), but those are inconspicuous. Please study the images carefully. I would characterize the condition as "excellent," if not "near-mint."

The violin features a tightly grained spruce top, two-piece flamed maple back, and flamed ribs and neck -- all made with highest quality, thoroughly seasoned European woods. The violin is slightly shaded and oil varnished in the Cremona tradition using Roth's proprietary formula (red-brown color). The violin showcases Roth's flawless workmanship and is a beauty to behold.

The tone is lively and "round," with full-bodied warm bases and singing "E" string. 

This model is typically offered by dealers in the $4,500-$5,500 range. Please note that significant customs duties may apply if the purchase is made from a dealer abroad.
