Epiphone Emperor 1976
Made by Matsumoku in Japan
This 1976 Blue Label Epiphone was manufactured by Matsumoku Kogyo in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, and sold by Arai Trading. At the time, Japanese guitar makers thoroughly studied American-made guitars, and this was a period in which artisanal guitar manufacturing techniques rapidly improved, leading to the name Japan Vintage.
The name Blue Label refers to the color of the label affixed to the inside of the guitar's F-holes. The blue label, which reads "Emperor," has the words "Made in Japan" written in small letters below it. Later, in the 1980s, Epiphone, also manufactured by Matsumoku, was replaced with a beige label.

Condition:
There is some aging, with some plating peeling and tarnish on the metal parts like the tuners and pickups, and some yellowing on the binding. The two screws on the pickup cover have rusted and are difficult to turn.
The finish is unaffected. Both the top and back are clean.
The neck is also in good condition.
Frets are slightly worn on the lower frets.
Please refer to the photos for each part.
Sounds:
The humbucker delivers a powerful, core-like sound that's perfect for pop, blues, and rock. Turning down the volume and tone controls a little also lets you enjoy a sweet, gentle, and mellow sound that leans more toward jazz.
Genuine Epiphone and Gibson archtops are now soaring in price worldwide, making them difficult to come by, but this vintage Japanese guitar, built with the best features of these authentic instruments, is still a fun guitar to play. Don't miss this opportunity to get one.
