Overview:
Made-in-Japan Yamaha SE700E from Yamaha's 80s superstrat era. This was one of the top-tier models in the SE lineup, with an ebony board and Yamaha's Rockin' Magic locking trem system. Fast neck, great ergonomics, and a lot of guitar for the money.
Specs & Features:
- Construction: Bolt-on
- Body/Wood: Alder (factory spec)
- Neck: Maple (factory spec)
- Fingerboard: Ebony, dot inlays, 22 frets (factory spec)
- Scale length / Nut: 25.5" scale, 41 mm nut (factory spec)
- Pickups: Yamaha Spinex HSS set (factory spec)
- Electronics: 5-way selector, master volume, master tone
- Hardware: Yamaha Rockin' Magic locking trem system, locking nut
- Finish: Metallic red
Condition:
Honest vintage condition with normal wear for age. The finish shows light marks and handling wear, and the trem hardware shows cosmetic oxidation. Everything functions as it should.
Important note: No trem arm included.
Notes:
I owned the HH version of this Yamaha SE platform as my main guitar for about a decade, so when this one popped up I grabbed it. If you know these MIJ Yamahas, you already get it: they feel like serious instruments, and they're still undervalued.
