I am offering a Gretsch G6134 White Penguin from 2003, the manufactured at the Terada factory in Japan iconic high-end single cutaway solidbody model with chambered mahogany body, arched maple top, set-in mahogany neck with standard “U” neck profile and 42.9mm bone nut, bound ebony fingerboard with elaborate hump block mother-of-pearl inlays incl. engraved feather motifs, two sonically hot Gretsch Dynasonic singlecoil pickups, tuning-stable Grover Imperial tuners, high-quality Gretsch Space-Control roller bridge and Gretsch “G” Cadillac tailpiece in a brilliant white high-gloss finish with shiny gold hardware in mint collector's condition, including black Gretsch luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.

This 2003 Gretsch G6134 White Penguin combines the iconic Falcon gold & glitter finish with the sleek appearance of the Duo Jet. The chambered mahogany body with an arched maple top gives this instrument an extraordinary combination of resonance, assertiveness, and controlled sustain. Visually, the White Penguin presents itself with a radiant vintage white high-gloss finish, elegant gold hardware, and elaborate gold sparkle bindings in an impressive, luxurious appearance with high recognition value.

The set-in mahogany neck with a standard “U” neck profile offers a rich, classic feel with high stability and a comfortable substance in the hand. The bound ebony fingerboard with intricately designed hump block mother-of-pearl inlays, including engraved feather motives, ensures precise response, fast articulation, and a very direct playing feel across the entire fingerboard. The 625mm scale length further contributes to the typical Gretsch elasticity and playing pleasure, especially when playing dynamic rhythm and lead parts.

When plugged into an amp, the two Gretsch Dynasonic singlecoil pickups deliver an open, powerful vintage sound with tight bass, present mids, and brilliant highs, with excellent string separation and extremely sensitive attack dynamics. From clear, sparkling clean sounds to crisp rock ‘n’ roll twang to slightly distorted vintage crunch sounds, this pickup set covers a wide stylistic spectrum, and the classic Gretsch electronics with master volume, master tone, and separate volume controls per pickup allow for very sensitive tone shaping.

A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

High-quality hardware rounds off the overall package: Grover Imperial tuners ensure excellent tuning stability, while the Gretsch Space Control roller bridge, in combination with the legendary “G” Cadillac tailpiece, offers a smooth string feel and reliable intonation.

Simply an exceptionally elegant, powerful-sounding, and collectible Gretsch icon that meets the highest standards in both appearance and sound!
