Relatively early iteration of an Eastman T186MX (2008) with the rare blue nitro finish. Really stunning semi-hollow guitar constructed with all solid carved woods including solid flamed maple top and mahogany back/sides. Mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. Gold hardware, cream binding everywhere. Frets in great shape. Lightweight for this style of guitar, as the center block doesn’t extend all the way through the middle. Fairly certain it is all original.
I am the third owner, and it has been kept in it's case in my studio when not in use. The last owner rescued it from a dry climate where two finish cracks developed, due to low humidity over time on the front center seam, and to a lesser extent the back center seam. They are completely solid and just “skin deep“. He had it set up nicely by my tech (11-50 round wounds right now) and given a clean bill of health. He had also spent a couple of hours gently buffing the finish to get some light marks and odd smudging out of the nitro finish that were very apparent in certain lighting when he received it. Almost none of those remain, although there are a couple of small surface scratches and dings other than that aforementioned center seam finish crack, and some smudging does remain. Refer to the pictures.
I understand the nitro finish is quite delicate for this era of Eastman guitar.
I really like this guitar. It's fun to play without any amplification; it's fun to play with amplification. It can cover a wide range of sounds (I've run it through an Axe Fractal FM9 primarily) and I really do mean it's a joy.
Note that this may not be the best "quiet" guitar if that's something you need: the sides and front are solid wood, not laminated.
Comes with a Roadrunner padded gig bag. Selling because I don't play nearly as much as I used to, and this guitar needs someone to cherish and play it.
