- This is a rare Dillon acoustic guitar made by luthier John Dillon of Taos, New Mexico in 1978. It's only the 8th of these guitars made by Dillon after his start in 1975.
- Dillon mentored with luthier Max Krimmel of Colorado and is known for famously good-sounding instruments and built guitars for some well-known players including Hank Williams Jr., Trisha Yearwood, Steve Earle, The Mavericks, and Michael Martin Murphey.
- This guitar features solid rosewood back and sides (not laminate), with a solid (most likely spruce) top, and ebony fretboard.
- It comes with a sturdy hard case with a nice blue interior.
- It's important to note that this particular instrument has some wear, most noticeably the center seam separation line occurring (see photos). This seems to be mainly cosmetic, but it'd be a good idea to have it stabilized in the future.
- There's also some separation of the binding in the waist on the top and back sides (see photos), also mainly cosmetic but something to keep in mind.
- There's also various scuffs and wear spots on the finish and along the neck from frequent play.
- Also, the exterior of the case is quite worn and the latches are discolored.
- Despite the wear, the guitar sounds excellent and has been remarked upon by the players who've tried it out as one of the best-sounding instruments they've ever tried.
- If potential buyers wish to try the guitar out in person, you are welcome to visit the shop to try it out. We're in Clackamas County, Oregon.
