A killer example of early-’80s Japanese high craft, this SB Elite II delivers the fast, piano-like snap and deep low-end the SB series is famous for. Finished in classic ivory with gold hardware, it features the sculpted SB body, ebony fingerboard with oval inlays, rock-solid bridge, and powerful dual pickups with onboard switching for everything from articulate funk to authoritative rock grind. Built during Aria Pro II’s golden era, this Elite II is equal parts player’s weapon and player-grade classic—pure Matsumoku muscle with unmistakable SB attitude.
While this bass if fairly tidy, there are some noticeable dings on the butt end and tip of the headstock. When we purchased this bass the bridge pickup was dead, so we replaced it with a superb pickup from S.P. Armstrong and it sounds even better than the original neck pickup. Also, there are only three screws in the bridge pickup- this is how we got the bass.
If you're in the mood for an example of Matsumoku's finest, then you have arrived at the right place. The bass has been detailed, restrung with fresh strings and set up for optimal playability. Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you for stopping by!
