This 1970s Ludwig Vistalite tom in red is a high-octane piece of drum history
Unlike the warm, thumpy wood shells of that era, acrylic is loud, punchy, and dry.
- Attack: Huge initial crack with very little "shell ring"
- Projection: They were designed to cut through walls of Marshall stacks in un-mic'd stadiums
