The Driftless Overdrive is a discrete transistor overdrive with selectable diode clipping. The Driftless Overdrive is designed, assembled, and hand-painted here in Southwest Wisconsin. Selectable clipping modes allow for a variety of drive levels, and the flexible Baxandall-style EQ section provides wide control over the tone of the overdrive. Individually cut or boost bass or treble, or turn both down in conjunction to boost mids, or both up to scoop mids.
Diode Modes:
Middle (No diode clipping): In this mode, the diodes are completely removed from the circuit. At low gain, the pedal functions as a clean boost and EQ. At higher gain settings, transistor clipping is introduced, providing low-gain touch-sensitive overdrive.
Down (Pre-EQ):
Provides the most compressed and saturated clipping available in this pedal. Great for medium-gain drive. At higher gain settings, the pedal produces a distortion-like combination of transistor clipping and diode clipping.
Up (Post-EQ):
Provides a gain sound that is less compressed and more dynamic than the Pre-EQ setting, but with more distortion that the No-Diodes mode. Great as a general use overdrive. Additionally, when both treble and bass are maxed out, the pedal provides a glitchy, fuzzy distortion in this mode.
