This is a vintage 1930's-1940's flat top pickguard in tortoise shell finish. Includes four original screws. This pickguard material is cellulose acetate, a non-petroleum plastic compound found on prewar instruments. Characterized by an almost holographic depth it was only used for a short period of time before the advent of more modern plastic compounds and is pretty rare on the parts market. See photos.
