This Gibson Les Paul Supreme is a 2004 example finished in Desert Burst and represents one of the most luxurious and visually striking evolutions of the Les Paul design. Introduced in the early 2000s, the Supreme sat at the very top of Gibson’s production range, combining classic Les Paul tone with elevated craftsmanship, premium materials and a distinctly modern sense of refinement.

What sets the Les Paul Supreme apart immediately is its carved, highly figured maple top and matching carved maple back, a departure from the traditional flat-backed Les Paul construction. Finished in Desert Burst, the figuring is showcased beautifully, fading from a warm amber centre into deeper outer tones that give the guitar real depth and movement under light. Gold hardware and refined detailing complete the upmarket aesthetic without feeling overstated.

Tonally, the Supreme delivers everything you’d expect from a high-end Les Paul, with a little extra polish. The carved maple top and back contribute to a focused, articulate response, balancing rich low end with a clear, singing top. Clean tones are full and detailed, while driven sounds offer sustain, punch and harmonic complexity in abundance. It’s equally at home covering classic rock, blues and more contemporary gain sounds.

Playability is excellent, with a neck profile that feels immediately comfortable and familiar. The guitar balances well despite its substantial feel, and the overall build quality is exactly what you’d expect from a flagship Gibson model of this era. It feels solid, resonant and inspiring in the hands, encouraging long playing sessions without fatigue.

Presented in excellent condition and supplied with its original hard shell case, this Les Paul Supreme is a standout example of Gibson’s early-2000s craftsmanship. A model that blends tradition with modern luxury, it remains a compelling option for players looking for something a little more refined than a standard Les Paul.
