For sale is a 2011 Gibson Historic '58 Les Paul Standard in beautiful VOS Faded Cherry

Sunburst. This plain top R8 is a beast with a chunky neck and a few great upgrades that make it even more authentic to a 50s Les Paul!

Besides the upgrades, everything else is stock as it would come from Gibson, a few small bumps and dings but nothing out of the ordinary and are shown in the photos. Frets are like new with zero wear, polished to a shine and ready to rock! Overall in excellent condition, with some of the VOS "wear" on the nickel hardware as comes from the factory. Here are all the specs below:

-One piece Mahogany back with beautiful figuring and no weight relief.

-Maple top with a good amount of figuring, and a small amount of birdseye and flame here and there, very nice for a plain top!

-Chunky mahogany C neck measures .92" at the 1st fret and 1.04" at the 12th.

-The original Burstbucker pickups and wiring (not included) were upgraded as follows;

Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups, wound by Maricela Juarez aka "MJ" in the custom shop, fitted with aged covers and degaussed A2 magnets, very nice balanced pickup set that captures the P.A.F. tone perfectly in this Les Paul. Neck measures 7.57K, Bridge measures 8.50K. The wiring was also upgraded with Bareknuckle/CTS 550k pots, measured in spec, Slow/J taper for volumes, Fast/A taper for tones.

Two REAL DEAL (not reissue/remakes!) 1950's

BumbleBee capacitors, measured to spec at . 022uf for the neck and .023 for the bridge.

Switch and output jack are stock Switchcraft.

-Switch Tip replaced with real catalin bakelite like the originals, it's smooth with no mold line.

Original tip is included

-Truss Rod Cover replaced with a replica that better matches the bevel of the originals, shape and size is also closer. Original is included.

-Knobs Upgraded to replica style bell knobs that better represent the original shape and size with a concave top. Originals not included.

-Weighs in at 8lbs 15oz. Great sustain, notes bloom and chords ring out with low action and no buzzing and no dead spots (4/64th on E @ 12th fret, 3/64th on e at 12th fret). Big woody round tones on the neck pickup, chime in the middle position, and bold chirpy attack on the bridge without being too aggressive or compressed.

All other parts are original to this guitar, included are all the original hang tags for the guitar and case, COA, warranty booklet and inspection sheet. Also included is the packaging for the Duncan Antiquity pickups. All is show in photos.

Original hardshell case is in great shape too! If you're into Les Pauls with big necks and authentic 50's Gibson tones this is a good one!
