Dang this thing is BIG. it’s almost 4 and a half FEET LONG! I have no idea how I’m going to ship it safely but I guess we will see. Here’s an ancient old ukulele built in the 60s. Many of them are labeled “Kook-a-lele“ for their kooky shape. The story with the long body is that if you were a surfer you could just jam the headstock into the sand and go shoot the curl then come back and serenade your little surfer girl (or boy) with some Beach Boys. I’m not totally sure that this ever happened though.
Regardless this thing is pretty cool. It’s a very rare black variant of this model. Most I’ve seen have been bright yellow. It IS over half a century old so it does show some age and bumps and bruises (it also has someones name faintly painted on the side where I put the output jack) but it has been completely rebuilt and is very solid. Check the video below to hear it rocking. The bridge is probably in the wrong place for perfect intonation but it is glued down and original so I’ll leave that to the new owner to decide if they want to modify it. Very fun and kooky instrument.
