Limited to 165 pieces, the Distortion Filter D312A combines classic hard-clipping distortion with a powerful band-pass filter.
Part of the Obsolete Devices series, the Distortion Filter is built around a trio of Soviet-era germanium pulse diodes, part number D312A. Set up for asymmetrical clipping, these unusual NOS diodes provide complex and dynamic break-up with a uniquely expressive, almost vocal quality to the mid-range.
To enhance this even further, we added an analogue band-pass filter. With controls for not just Frequency but also Depth, you can add subtle tone-shaping emphasis or pulverise a specific frequency into submission.
About the Obsolete Devices series
The Obsolete Devices series takes obscure NOS (new old stock) components and gives them a new purpose.
Built in small numbers, these limited-edition pedals are specifically designed around the rare and unusual parts we have collected.
Drawing on classic circuits, heavily tweaked and modified to our own ends, we look to bring out every nuance of their unique and unpredictable character.
