Martin / 1979 D-41
This guitar has a moderately wide sound and rich overtones, making it an appealing instrument that you'll want to play forever.
The lingering resonance is irresistible!
The understated design is also a unique charm of the D-41, so be sure to consider it!
"A guitar with a sound the D-45 just can't produce."
Produced in 1969, the D-41 was a more affordable version of Martin's king of flat-tops, the D-45.
However, it's no mere budget-friendly version; it faithfully reflects the specifications of the 40 series and is adorned with luxurious details.
-The D-41's hidden tone
The top is crafted from carefully selected Sitka spruce.
In 1974, the wood was changed from German spruce to the above-mentioned wood, but this doesn't mean it has a bad image; the finely grained spruce is carefully selected.
The sides and back are made of Indian rosewood.
The vertical grain reveals a beautiful pattern.
The pickguard features a glossy tortoiseshell pattern.
It looks stunning against the amber-colored spruce.
The pickguard has also been replaced with a larger one.
The fingerboard is crafted from ebony and features abalone hexagonal inlays, inheriting the DNA of the D-45.
A small detail, but the size is slightly smaller than the D-45, giving it a stylish and compact impression.
The bridge, made of ebony like the fingerboard, features short saddles, ensuring string vibrations are transmitted to the top of the strings during strokes.
The neck is neither too thick nor too thin, providing a comfortable grip.
The rosette adorning the sound hole is made of abalone, giving it a brilliance that rivals that of the D-45.
The purfling adorning the dreadnought is also decorated with abalone, and while it's more understated than the D-45, this is a recommended instrument for those who prefer a more subdued look.
The headstock features binding that has aged to a cream color and the vertical C.F. Martin logo, a symbol of the 40 series.
Every time you look at this headstock, you'll feel a sense of excellence that you own a special guitar.
The tuning machines are equipped with Grover (unstamped) tuning pegs.
Additional screw holes on the back of the headstock suggest that this guitar was likely equipped with Wevery open-back tuning pegs.
The included case is missing the Martin logo plate, but you'll be captivated by the beauty of the D-41 the moment you open it.
Experience the charm of the coveted Martin 40 series for yourself.

*This is a used/vintage item, and information is based on our own inspection.
Please note in advance.
-Detailed weather-checking throughout the instrument tells its story.
Although it's been nearly 50 years, the lack of cracks indicates that it has been well-maintained.
-The neck has been over-lacquered, but the body paint appears to be original.
-One additional screw hole has been added to the tuning pegs, suggesting that they were previously fitted with Wevery-type tuning pegs, but they have since been replaced with 1970s-era Grover (unstamped) gold tuning pegs.
As this is a 1979 model, the choice of tuning pegs from the same era is a testament to the careful attention to detail.
- The pickguard has been replaced from black to a larger tortoiseshell pattern (painted).
- The Martin logo on the hard case is missing.
- The metal fittings on the bottom of the hard case are sunken.

- Saddle extension: Approximately 1.0mm
