This LA Benge is not going to be named the Belle of the Ball in the looks department. But what she may lack in looks, she makes up for with a great sound, lightning fast valves, and consistent intonation throughout the full range of the horn.
These don't come up for sale very often. I've sold two of this same model for $2000 and $2250. This is an opportunity to get an excellent playing cornet for a great deal!
This cornet has had a very active life. It was clearly played regularly. You can see that it has small dings and scratches throughout. However, there are no holes, leaks, or patches. The wear appears to be on the surface and not red rot. The pistons include brass valve guides and the valve compression is excellent. The bell bead is also undamaged and fully intact.
It has been flushed and polished and has new felts and corks.
