James Burton influenced generations of rock guitar royalty with his perfectly phrased late-'50s/early-'60s Tele® work with Ricky Nelson, and his later stints with Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello and many others only furthered his revered elder-statesman status. His was the first signature Telecaster model, and today's James Burton Telecaster is as fiery as ever, with three pickups, special switching, gold hardware, gorgeous paisley-flame finishes and more.
Here is the first year of the Fender James Burton Signature Model in the stunning Red Flame. Made in 2006 at Fender USA Corona factory. The serial on the headstock starts with N94, indicating the neck is from 1994 and the stamp on the neck heel shows OCT 22 2006 (pictured). So the excess necks from 1994 were put on the new Red Flame models, making this tele quite rare, unlike the new version which had some changes such as the standard gold machine heads instead of the Elite style tuners.
Overall in very good condition, with player wear and gold parts has some fading.
Frets in excellent condition, as it was last setup/fret dressed by the superb LA Guitars in North London.
Setup with Ernie Ball 9-46 Hybrid Slinky strings. Nice low action, playability and lots of tone options.
Modded with an electro jack socket (original tele jack cup included) and new Switchcraft jack.
Please note: on the back of the body (edge), there has been a knock and has been painted/blended black by a previous guitar tech (pictured). Purely cosmetic.
