I am offering a Martin D-28 Standard from 2011, a manufactured in Nazareth, Pennsylvania (USA), all solid timber dreadnought luxury acoustic guitar model from the Martin Standard Series with fine-grained Sitka spruce top over a standard X-bracing, back and sides made of dark-grained East Indian rosewood, set-in selected hardwood neck with low profile neck profile and 42.8mm bone nut, elegant ebony fingerboard with classic mother-of-pearl dot inlays, ebony bridge with compensated bone saddle and high-quality Grover Rotomatic tuners in a beautiful nitrocellulose natural high-gloss finish with black pickguard and multi-ply white Boltaron body binding in mint condition, including black Martin luxury hardshell case, manufacturer's papers and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.
This traditional D-14 Fret dreadnought acoustic guitar is crafted from the finest materials and comes with an exceptionally tasteful, timeless look. The dreadnoughts of the 28 series—guitars with solid Sitka spruce tops and solid East Indian rosewood backs and sides—have been an integral part of Martin for nine decades. Since its introduction in 1931, the D-28 has not changed much, is still considered THE iconic dreadnought, and has been played by countless of the most famous guitarists ever, from Eric Clapton to Paul McCartney to Neil Young.
When selecting the top wood, you can see that expertise and experience flow directly into Martin's guitar making. A finely resonant Sitka spruce top provides a bright and powerful sound experience, especially in the mid and high frequencies, with numerous overtones that linger for a long time. Due to its strong vibration behavior, the top, in combination with standard X-bracing, builds up an incomparable dynamic that impressively brings out both classic strumming and picking.
The back and sides made of East Indian rosewood also provide clear, cleanly defined bass tones for three-dimensional tonal depth. This allows the guitar to produce its characteristic voluminous, orchestral tone, which nevertheless conveys a warm note.
A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
The combination of a classic 645mm scale length, 42.8mm bone nut, and low-profile neck profile ensures a comfortable and smooth playing feel.
Visually, the guitar impresses at first glance with its slightly aged natural high-gloss finish combined with classic details such as mother-of-pearl dot inlays in the black ebony fingerboard and shiny Grover Rotomatic tuners.
