Gibson Byrdland 2003
In 1955, the year of inception, 1 sunburst Gibson Byrdland was built. Between then and 1957, only 110 sunburst Byrdlands were made and in late 1957 the humbucking pickup was introduced. Prior to that only some guitars had staple pickups and others were fitted with p 90 pickups. This is the closest thing you will ever find to a mint condition '56-'57 staple, sunburst Byrdland- perhaps anywhere! It was made in the Gibson custom shop in 2003 and is signed by James Hutchins, one of the most revered luthiers in Gibson's history. Included are the Custom/Art/Historic case, all case candy including polishing cloth, CAH branded picks and Gibson braided cable. An extremely rare and significant instrument.
