【About This item and Sound】
The BOSS OS-2 is a drive pedal featuring two independent distortion circuits—overdrive and distortion—in a single unit. You can use each character independently, or freely blend the overdrive and distortion, connected in parallel inside the pedal, using the COLOR knob.
It delivers diverse drive sounds with simple operation, making it a versatile addition to any guitarist's rig, from beginners to professionals.

The OS-2 features two independent distortion circuits.
The Overdrive(OD) delivers the signature sound of the OD-1, the first compact pedal released by BOSS in 1977. Its asymmetrical clipping circuit produces a warm, tube-like distortion and responsive feel. With rich midrange and a wide range of distortion, it excels for both lead and rhythm guitar.
The Distortion(DS) is tuned for a thick, wild sound with punchy low end. It's perfect for aggressive solos or strumming chords.

The Overdrive and Distortion circuits are internally connected in parallel, allowing you to blend their sounds. This enables sound shaping that maximizes the character of both, something not possible with a series connection.
Mixing distortion into the overdrive adds tight low end to a warm sound.
Conversely, adding overdrive to the distortion injects rich midrange into the raw distortion, boosting its presence.

【About BOSS】
BOSS was established in 1973 as Roland's research and development division, and is a manufacturer that mainly develops effects pedals for electric guitars and basses.
Its representative effects pedals include the legendary overdrive “OD-1”, which was released as the first compact effects pedal, and the “ME series” and “GT series” multi-effects pedals.

The origin of the official company name is unclear, but there is a rumor among employees that it was chosen to evoke the feeling of “stepping on the boss” when using the pedal portion of the effects unit.
