A Wonderful 2007 Les Paul TV Junior Re-Finished to Perfection by Tom Murphy
2007 Gibson "Les Paul" TV Junior - Custom Shop - Tom Murphy
Double cutaway solid body with rounded horns. This 2007 Custom Shop TV Junior weighs just 7.30 lbs. This wonderful guitar was expertly refinished and aged to the original 1958 specification by Tom Murphy in 2010. One-piece mahogany neck with a nice fat nut width of just under 1 11/16 inches, a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches and that great late '58 / '59 "baseball bat" style profile. Rosewood fretboard with 22 original jumbo frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. Headstock with "Gibson" logo and "Les Paul TV Model" silk-screened in gold. Black plastic bell-shaped truss-rod cover secured by two screws. Closed-back single-line 'Kluson' Deluxe strip tuners with aged white plastic oval buttons. Serial number inked-on in black on the back of the headstock. One black P-90 pickup with a very strong output of 8.06k. Black plastic pickup cover secured by two screws. Single-ply tortoiseshell pickguard (by Tom Murphy) with four screws. Two controls (one volume, one tone) on the lower treble bout. Black plastic bell-shaped "Bell" knobs. The capacitor is the requisite 'Bumble-Bee' type. Combination "wrap-over" bar bridge/tailpiece with two intonation adjustment screws. The inside of the control cavity cover has "DC LP-Jr. TV Yellow / # 8-7085 / neck shape & finish / Tom Murphy '10" written in silver marker. This is the closest to an original '58 / '59 TV Junior (with a neck to die for) that we have ever seen. This guitar is in mint as new (9.50) condition. Complete with all the original case candy. The look, the feel and the sound of this little screamer is insane… Housed in the original Gibson "Custom" five-latch, shaped black hardshell case with padded burgundy plush lining (9.25++). Tom Murphy has (in 2010) re-shaped the neck, re-finished the guitar in the correct 58/59 banana yellow color and gently aged the hardware. The result is absolutely stunning… (#2031)
