Quothe the Raven...
Here is a rare bird. It's a Matsumoku build likely from the mid-1960s before they had perfected the open-book headstock. These were branded as Ravens for the Australian market. It's the only other place that I have ever seen them - mostly early SG copies and basses and very few at that. They are quality builds with triple bound tops, bound backs and headstocks, beautiful necks and Brazilian Rosewood fretboards (see pics). This one is complete with a working vibrato but does have some modifications. It has been re-wired with upgraded high output pickups. It has also had the neckplate removed. The neck pickup ring is missing a piece (see pics) but it is otherwise in remarkably good condition with no checking or serious flaws. It is currently set up for slide with medium high action but this can easily be lowered. There is a floating bridge with roller saddles for intonation. It's a player and has been regularly gigged and recorded. Frets are very good. Double bound body. It's a ripper.
