Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a older and and very rare 1920's / 30's era microphone floor stand built in the U.S.A but I am unaware of the brand of this stand as it's so early and I just don't have any catalogs that are pre 1940. This unique floor stand has an original painted cast iron base with a matching lower painted riser and upper chrome riser that allows you to mount any microphone or mic clip on top.
I have never seen this particular model before and I've been doing this a while. I know that many of the very early desk and floor stands were often made of brass or were painted in unusual colors and this is no exception.
Interestingly enough when I received the stand I thought the cast iron base and lower riser were a dark grey color. It was so dirty and badly stained from years of neglect that after a deep cleaning I discovered that the stand actually has an original hunter green paint scheme. The paint on the stand won't get any better than what you see. It has been cleaned as good as it can be.
As where most floor stands had a 10 inch wide base...this one has an 11 inch wide base. The lower risers is also much thicker than a standard later style floor stand. Everything about this floor stand is very unique. It has a very cool deco design with a 4 tier waterfall design on the cast iron base.
There is a marking on the bottom of the base that states FS100 but again, I have no idea who the actual manufacturer is? Possibly Emco, Masco or Eastern? I can tell you that it work perfectly. Again, the adapter on top of the top riser allows you to mount any screw on type mic with the universal 5/8 X 27 thread. The upper riser is adjustable and has a nice chrome plate. The chrome does shows scratches but overall very good. Free of dents or corrosion.
The top riser is adjustable giving you a top height of 57 inches to a low of 36 inches depending on your needs. The stand weighs about 15 pounds and makes for a very stable platform. It's built like a tank too and you could fight a grizzly bear off with this floor stand.
The cast iron base does show paint loss and lite corrosion but it's free of fractures or dents.
There was never any felt or rubber pads on the base.
Overall this stand is an easy 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Others would probably find it much nicer. A real conversation piece and if you need something that's an actual antique being roughly 100 years old...this is your stand. I doubt I'll ever come across another one of these again. Just that rare.
Due to recent price increases at the Postal Service I cannot ship this for any less than stated.
I do combine shipping which will save a lot of money if you plane on buying multiple items or more stands.
