A rare find for Charvel fans - this 2011 Charvel SoCal Pro-Mod in bold Ferrari Red is essentially a New Old Stock instrument that has been carefully stored and professionally upgraded to an extremely high standard.

The guitar is in excellent cosmetic and technical condition. It spent most of its life safely kept in a studio environment and shows almost no signs of use. The frets are in perfect, like-new condition, and overall the instrument feels fresh, tight, and incredibly well preserved.

This model was Made in Japan at the legendary Chushin Gakki Factory, which closed in 2012. Guitars produced there are widely respected for their outstanding craftsmanship and precision, and many players consider these MIJ Charvels to be some of the best modern-era instruments ever built.

Professionally Upgraded by a Master Luthier

This SoCal has received high-end, tasteful upgrades carried out by renowned master luthier John Carey of DeTemple Guitars. The work was done with exceptional attention to detail and significantly enhances both tone and performance.

The guitar is now equipped with a premium DiMarzio pickup set - an Evolution humbucker in the neck and a Tone Zone in the bridge, both in custom red. A Master Tone control has been added for greater tonal flexibility, along with full-size CTS pots, an Orange Drop capacitor, a CRL 3-way switch, and a stereo input jack.

On the hardware side, the instrument features a top-tier Tisonix USA Titanium Floyd Rose system, including the bridge, claw, locking nut, and string retainer bar. This is an extremely high-end upgrade - a titanium Floyd Rose bridge alone typically retails in the $600–$800 range, making it one of the most premium tremolo systems available. The guitar is also fitted with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners and a custom Rising Sun pickguard, completing a truly professional-grade setup.
