This guitar originally started life with a pickup, which would have been fitted to a bracket from the overlapping section of the neck. For whatever reason, at some point in its 60+ year history, the pickup and pickguard have been removed, turning the guitar into an acoustic and leaving the guitar with pin holes where the bracket and pickguard were fitted (see pictures).

The guitar is in great shape and plays well. There are other signs of use as to be expected for a 60+ year old guitar including a few scuffs, marks and scratches, plus the usual lacquer checking but there are no splits, cracks or repairs that we can see. The back and sides are a stunning birds eye maple, the neck is in good shape, there is virtually no fret wear and the adjustable bridge is working fine.

The serial number is stamped on the back of the head and is hard to read, but we think it is 53739, dating the guitar to the early 60's.

The guitar is supplied with a high-quality Freshman hard case with green interior.
