Fernandes FST-60 1978 Stone Logo Stratocaster Made by TOKAI

About This item and Sound
The FST-60 is a vintage Stratocaster model from the Fernandes ”Stone Logo” era, sold only during the two-year period of 1978-79.
It features a small headstock, one-piece maple neck, 1-ply pickguard, and staggered pickups, reflecting 1950s Strat specifications.
The body wood utilizes SEN (Japanese ash). Carefully selected for its lightweight properties, it targets the sound of 1954-56 Stratocasters, offering a distinct sonic character compared to alder.

The pickups feature "NEW L-1" single-coil pickups in the front and middle positions. The Alnico staggered pole pieces produce a vintage sound.
The rear pickup features an early DiMarzio HS (4-conductor). This modification pays homage to Yngwie Malmsteen's Alcatraz era.
The FST-60 comes standard with a 5-way selector switch, delivering brilliant tones in half-tone settings.Controls prioritize sound quality: B250KΩ for Volume and A250KΩ for Tone.

The stamps on the body and neck end confirm it's a Tokai-made instrument.
The stone logo sticker on the headstock and the neck stamp reveal it was made in 1978.

Best weight Sen (Japanese ash) body produces a well-balanced Stratocaster sound with solid mid-bass. Half-position riffs and cutting have good sound separation. The tone is also effective and colors a variety of sounds. The 50's Stratocaster specs of sen (Japanese ash) body, maple neck and fingerboard are matched with NEW L-1 pickups, producing a shimmering, powerful, and persistent sound that is also solid and bluesy.

【 About "FERNANDES" , "FST Series"
In 1972, FERNANDES began selling electric guitars in earnest. Fernandes did not have its own factory, but had a Japanese OEM factory manufacture its own planned products. Acoustic guitars were Hayashi Gakki. Electric guitars were handled by Tokai, Matsumoku, Kawai and Terada Gakki, all leading Japanese factories. Therefore, there was no compromise, and the quality was first-rate.
Depending on the type, it had two brand names: "FERNANDES" for the Fender model series and "BURNY" for the Gibson model series.

FERNANDES began selling electric guitars in 1973. The FST series is a lineup of vintage Stratocaster replicas. Moving away from the early specifications that resembled the Fender logo, the original logo, commonly known as the "Stone Logo," was adopted from 1978 to 1979. Aiming for authentic replicas, the attention to detail was outstanding. This high precision was carried over to the later “Revival Series”.
FERNANDES may have been overshadowed by Greco and Tokai, but it is undoubtedly one of Japan's representative vintage guitars.

【 THIS "FST-60" & "Yngwie (Alcatrazz)" STORY

I was told that the rear pickup on this guitar is actually a DiMarzio HS, transplanted from the Stratocaster body that Yngwie destroyed and threw into the audience during Alcatrazz's first Japan tour at Nakano Sunplaza.
He reportedly watched from the second row that day and caught the body. This can apparently be confirmed in the live video sold on VHS. (I haven't been able to obtain the deck or content, so I haven't verified it myself.)
Based on the stack configuration, 4-conductor wiring, and four vinyl-coated wires, it is identified as an early-spec Dimarzio HS.

While I have described this story associated with the guitar, it has not been reflected in the price.
I present it solely as an episode and story about this guitar.

Please don't miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
