Original vintage c 1969 fender 300-ps amplifier in excellent working condition. These are among fender’s rarest and coolest offerings, produced in extremely limited quantity at the turn of the 70s. Along with the 400ps, these amps represented the biggest, highest wattage amps ever made. (There’s actually a pretty cool reverb article about them)
The key advantage to the 300ps is that it can be used with a single 8 ohm cabinet, rather than the 400ps, which required 3 (!$) separate cabs to operate at full power!!! The other cool feature on the 300 is the built in “distortion” circuit, (actually a germanium fuzz, similar to the fender blender, or fuzz wah of the period). You use the fuzz amount to blend in the desired fuzz ratio to the signal, which can sound pretty damn wicked when your pushing 300+ watts!!!
Sonically, well, wow. This leviathan is every inch, (or lb, or watt ;) an svt killer, with a distinctly focused and girthy fender tone. Excellent as a massive doom platform for guitar. Don’t use the tremolo! It could actually cause physical trauma, throwing bricks of sound like that!! I use it for bass, which is especially delightful with the two equalizer stacks for really dialing in the perfect tone. -Not that your ears work anymore.
Cosmetically, she’s in good vintage condition, with the light patina and play wear one would expect of a well cared for behemoth of this age and stature, all included at no extra charge. She’s certainly the cleanest I’ve had the pleasure of owning. Enjoy!
