The Martin OM John Mayer Signature Edition features a top of solid Engelmann spruce with a Style 45 rosette center ring of colorful paua (abalone) shell. Constructed with especially designed "hybrid" bracing that enhances the rich, full sound of the East Indian rosewood back and sides. Other appointments include bold herringbone around the top, grained ivoroid binding, a Zig-Zag back stripe purfling, and a polished and beveled faux tortoise shell pickguard. To enhance the beauty of the top wood, a specially formulated vintage "aging" toner is applied before the polished nitrocellulose gloss lacquer. Also on board is the factory installed Fishman Gold Plus Natural I acoustic electronics system that results in an amazingly detailed amplified sound that's never harsh or brittle sounding. The Martin OMJM is a tasteful Orchestra Model exhibits versatility for today's diverse contemporary musical styles. This is one special, well balanced guitar.
