Our Big Sur set is the product of many hours of research into what makes the very best examples of early Van Nuys era Stratocasters sound so good.
Our "Flat-6" alnico V magnets are charged by hand to specific values, creating a subtle roundness in the highest frequencies for superbly sweet playability.
Characteristics
- Clear flute tones and bell-like chime in the neck
- Enhanced middle pickup with a fat midrange push, which perfectly compliments the neck and bridge in positions 2 & 4
- Highly usable bridge position, wound for a sweet & rounded top-end
- Perfect for “Gilmore Mod” wiring (neck + bridge together)
