Solid State Logic SSL E-Dyn Mk2 E-Series 500-Series Dynamics Processor

The E Series Dynamics Module for 500 Series racks reproduces the legendary sonic signature of an early 80s classic, the SL 4000 E console channel strip, which was featured on countless recordings from the 1980s. The E Series Dynamics Module includes a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate, both of which remain true to the circuitry and key components that define the sound of the original SL 611E Series channel strip.

A true RMS converter is used in the side chain, while the gain element features an all-discrete design identical to the Class A VCA chip found in the original unit. The compressor provides additional switching options to bypass the over-easy curve and to utilize a linear release instead of the more common logarithmic curve. This results in a compressor with three distinct voices, each possessing its own musical character.
