In collaboration with Ian "Swifty" Swift, Novation have reimagined their iconic Bass Station II for a limited time release as the Bass Station II Swifty Edition. It features a complete visual overhaul from legendary graphic designer Ian Swift, with a beautiful white and blue colorway variation on the classic design. In addition to the aesthetic flip, the Bass Station II Swifty Edition also comes preloaded with sixty new artist presets from seasoned Bass Station II users, celebrating this beloved modern monosynth with fresh sounds right out of the box.
Internally, the Swifty Edition of the Bass Station II is the same powerful synth as the original version, with the same highly-portable design, all-analog signal path, two filter sections, dual oscillators along with a sub oscillator and an all-analog effect section. The oscillator section offers an easy and intuitive method for crafting sounds, with an Oscillator Select switch which chooses from each potential oscillator slot, and controls to edit each oscillator individually. You can fine tune each oscillator, sync each one together, select octave ranges and waveforms, such as Sine, Triangle, Saw and Square/Pulse. These oscillators can be used together for creating thicker bass/lead sounds, or used paraphonically for other-worldly tones. The Bass Station II also offers a ton of modulation potential, with two dedicated LFOs and envelopes which can be patched to almost anything.
Novation continues to make innovations in the music space, but the Bass Station II has stood the test of time with its excellent sound and design, and the Swifty Edition matches a beautiful new aesthetic to that rock-solid sound.
