A Hot-Rodded Short-Scale Classic Up for sale is a Fender Duo-Sonic HS in the iconic Daphne Blue finish. The "Eric's Gear" Upgrades
The factory electronics, wire, and jack have been completely replaced with premium, high-spec custom components to improve the taper, reliability, and overall signal clarity:
- Volume Pot: 1 CTS WDMusic 500K solid shaft pot
- Tone/Switch Pot: 1 Bourns 500K push/pull pot (with brass sleeve)
- Capacitor: Vitamin-Q .022 oil capacitor
- Output Jack: Heavy-duty Switchcraft jack
- Wiring: Gavitt vintage-style cloth pushback wire throughout
- Bonus: The original factory electronics are included in the box.
Massive Tonal Versatility (Series/Parallel)
The HS setup combined with the Bourns push/pull pot is wired for series/parallel, giving you 5 distinct positions/tonal options overall. It easily covers everything from glassy, chimey single-coil cleans to thick, harmonically rich humbucker lead tones with zero clutter in the signal path.
Condition, Weight & Extras
- Weight & Feel: A very comfortable 7 lbs., exactly as set up with the strap and locks. The 24" short-scale length makes it an absolute joy to play during long tracking sessions.
- Neck Pocket Note: Please note there are minor finish cracks on both sides of the neck pocket. These are purely cosmetic (incredibly common with this bolt-on design) and do not affect the structural integrity or playability. Clear iPhone photos of these areas are included for full transparency.
- Included Extras: Ships with a brand-new Boss Gig Bag (pictured) and a perfectly suited Levy's Leathers MC8U-006 2" cotton guitar strap with decorative print and suede ends. Tri-glide adjustable to 65"black locks.
