These three CEDAR Audio noise reduction units, the CRX decrackler, the DHX dehisser and the DCX declicker are rack mount studio standards for noise reduction of vinyl and shellac recordings. These are digital in and out only professional audio noise reduction units, I believe manufactured in the early 1990s. (Do note that these are digital in and out units, there is no analog to digital converter built in to these units. If you wanted to use these live real time DJing or in studio, you would need an analog to digital converter and then output to a digital device, if you are working from an original vinyl or shellac source, 33 rpm, 45rpm, 78rpm. Some modern turntables do have digital outs/contain a built in analog to digital converter)
This is technology developed in Britain at the Engineering department at Cambridge University funded by the British Library National Sound Archive. I believe these units were US manufactured though (?) as they are designed for US electric grid.
Simple, user friendly controls are featured on these units which originally retailed for over $5K each. These are in excellent condition but do not come with original boxes or manuals (easily sourced online). The power cords may not be original, otherwise these are excellent condition original units.
I purchased these on Reverb a few years ago, thinking to use these for live DJing for 78rpm recordings, but never got around to using them. I am clearing out some gear, and unfortunately I think these have to go. I am selling these 3 units as a complete set only, at a break even price (price that I paid for them a few years back). (Original retail for these 3 units is over $15K)
