Catalyst Reaction – Ember / Sapele Build #004
Handbuilt semi-hollow electric guitar relic finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. Ember is the thicker-voiced Catalyst platform: warm mids, vocal lead tone, and that semi-hollow “breath” — without losing definition when you lean into gain.
This guitar is fully built, professionally set up, and ready to ship in hard case (shipping & case free with purchase).
Builder Notes
The Catalyst Ember is tuned for thickness without mud. The semi-hollow construction is achieved by routing internal cavities rather than pressing laminated plates. Acoustically, the response is lively and high-mid-forward, with a quick initial attack from the bolt-on neck joint. Brighter than a Gibson, but warmer than a Fender.
A standard master volume, master tone, and three-way switch provide flexibility while keeping the control layout simple and intuitive.
The body cutout sits naturally on the leg for comfortable seated playing, while the semi-hollow construction keeps weight under control and balances well when standing.
