Up for sale, a 2024 Santa Cruz OM Pre-War in mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. For decades, Santa Cruz has built a reputation for crafting masterful instruments, and this OM Pre-War delivers the balance, projection, and versatility that has made the orchestra model so beloved since its original iteration in 1929, honing in on Martin’s iconic Pre-War feature set.
An example with Santa Cruz’s Adirondack spruce bracing and hot hide glue construction (a considerable and expensive upgrade over the stock Pre-War OM platform), this OM features the best available tonewoods, voiced and tuned, as they are on all SCGC models. These include Indian Rosewood, responsibly harvested from the highest quality timbers, Sitka Spruce from British Columbia and premium mahogany from sustainable resources. With scalloped Adirondack X-bracing on the spruce top, the OM Pre-War delivers a powerful voice, yielding exquisite warmth, projection, and string-to-string balance (and balance across registers). The low end is bold, with a textured growl when digging in hard. Trebles are round and sparkling with a present punch, while the midrange is tailored for optimal clarity. The OM’s body dimensions, scale length and nut width make it an ideal partner for fingerpicking too.
